Dijon, Burgundy and Beaune

Adventuring out of the city for a day was such fun! Will and I both love wine, so we knew Burgundy had to be on our to-do list. We left Paris early, and took the train to Dijon. We met up with our Authentica Tour that took us out to Burgundy and Beaune for a full day. During our first stop the guide pulled a big bag of fresh croissants from the back. What a treat…Honestly, the fabulousness of France is all in the details. The view alone was fulfilling, but the wine and the crispy, buttery, fluffy goodness of that croissant made it even more magical. During our next stop, we sampled wine from the region. I tried a glass of wine from 1998. The oldest wine I’ve ever enjoyed, and let me tell you it was delicious! I wish I had it on hand weekly. ha!

Driving through this area was such a treat. The views were like something out of a story book. Each little village has its own church with a dainty steeple, visible for miles.

Our third stop was in Burgundy. I was so looking forward Beaune. Being immersed in the food culture has made me familiar with places like Beaune. What lovely and delicious place! The weather was great so we walked and explored from street to street. There is an enchanting carousel in the town center that calls you to it no matter your age.

I had to stop by Cooks Atelier in Beaune! Such a gem. I have followed them on instagram for some time- you know those places you feel like you know so well through pictures. It was great to see it in person. At the end of the day we went back to Dijon for our train back to Paris. While there we shopped around and I bought some incredible mustard and cheese from a Fromagerie. I highly recommend grabbing some cheese anywhere in France- it will be a major treat.
