Blue Cheese Biscuits

I’ve never met a biscuit I didn’t like, especially one that contains cheese. If you are a bread and cheese lover like me, these savory Blue Cheese Biscuits are something you write home about. Drizzle with honey and add some Strawberry Preserves for perfection. Enjoy!

Buttermilk Blue Cheese Biscuits

ingredients:

Buttermilk Blue Cheese Biscuits
  • 3 Cups of All Purpose Flour
  • 1 Tablespoon of Sugar 
  • 2 Tablespoons of Baking Powder
  • 1 Teaspoon of Salt 
  • 3/4 Cup of Cold Unsalted Butter (Sliced and Quartered in Small Pieces)
  • 1 Cup of Cold Buttermilk
  • 1 Large Egg
  • 1 1/2 Cups of Blue Cheese Crumbles 
  • Circular Biscuit Cutter

How to cook Buttermilk Blue Cheese Biscuits

Buttermilk Blue Cheese Biscuits
  1. Preheat oven to 425 degrees.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, whisk together Flour, Baking Powder, Sugar and Salt.
  3. Once fully combined with light texture, slowly add in Butter pieces, tossing with your hands and coating in Flour mixture.
  4. Next you will dump contents out on a floured surface and roll with a rolling pin. Continue to roll until Butter forms into flat sheets with Flour.
  5. Place Butter and Flour mixture back into the bowl carving out a tiny well in the center. 
  6. Add in the Buttermilk and Egg to the center well.
  7. Begin folding the liquids into the Flour until combined. 
  8. Continue to fold, and add in the Blue Cheese Crumbles, a 1/2 Cup at a time.
  9. Knead into a disk shape and then place on floured surface. 
  10. Roll out to about 2 inches thick and begin cutting out Biscuits, place on a parchment lined sheet pan.
  11. Bake for 15 minutes, or until slightly golden.
