Philly Cheesesteak Waffle Fries

I remember getting so excited for the Super Bowl as a child. Specifially I recall one year, my grandmother making that velveeta dip with sausage and rotel. It was just her, myself and my grandfather, HA! But it was still a party to me.

I think it was really for the party and snack aspect of it, and not so much the football. Are you in it for the football, the snacks, or both?! These Philly cheesesteak Fries will please any type of Super Bowl fan. They’re easy, delicious, and everything your crowd needs this weekend! Enjoy!

Philly Cheesesteak Fries 

INGREDIENTS:

  • 1/2 Pound Sliced Fajita or Stir Fry Beef

  • 2 Tablespoons of Olive oil

  • 1 Teaspoon of Pepper

  • 2 Tablespoons of Flour

  • 2 Tablespoons of Olive Oil

  • 1 Cup Sliced Baby Bella Mushrooms

  • 1 Cup Sliced Yellow onion

  • 1 Thinly Sliced Green Bell Pepper

  • 1 Thinly Sliced Red Bell Pepper 

  • 1 Package Alexia Waffle Fries 

  • 6 Slices of Provolone Cheese 

  • Salt and Pepper to taste (topping)

  • 2 Finely Sliced Scallions


INSTRUCTIONS:

  1. Preheat oven and Bake Waffle Fries according to package directions, minus 5 minutes. 

  2. Blot dry Meat with a paper towel. 

  3. In a small mixing bowl, combine Flour and 1 Teaspoon of Coarse Pepper. Mix well, and then toss Sliced Steak in the Flour mixture.

  4. Place two tablespoons of Olive Oil into skillet and bring to medium high heat. Brown beef for 4 minutes. 

  5. Remove from skillet and set aside.

  6. Reduce Skillet heat to medium. Add two more tablespoons of Olive Oil to pan. Sauté the Mushrooms, Onion and Bell Pepper for 5 minutes. 

  7. Then add the beef back into the skillet. Toss for 5-10 more minutes, until meat starts to crisp on edges.

  8. Place Waffle Fries into a cast iron skillet. Top with the Steak and Veggie mixture.

  9. Set oven to 425 degrees, bake skillet for 5 minutes.

  10. Remove skillet and add Provolone Cheese on top. Bake until cheese is light brown and bubbly. 

  11. Remove from oven, and top with Salt, Pepper, and Scallions. Serve immediately!
